The bigger little sister
Finally a Bed!

Dawn: Default
After being crammed in a back seat of a car I'm more than ready to stretch! Ugh. I can only imagine what Bobby's feeling like, he's like taller than I am.

I got us checked in and we had some semi-decent digs. I just said digs! XD I'm so tried I'm cracking myself up! 8D Its kinda sad.

So I'm glad to be out of the car and in the room. We're still figuring out which one of us should take the extra room we booked. The front desk says' they'll hold it for another hour. So hopefully we can decide by then.

Oh! Faith said something about food. I forgot what that was after I've eat nothing but gummy bears for the last few hours. I'm hoping for a salad. I'm going to have to eat something uberhealthy after the gummy bear massacre. Ugh. I feel a gummy revolt coming on if I don't get something soon.

By the way Golden, Colorado is not very "Golden" so far. Its kinda dark. So I'm thinking judging by what I've seen thus far, not very fair of me.

I'm taking my phone with me, I'm heading down to the front desk for take out places that deliver. I do not want the car again so soon.

oh, sammy wants to text you so bad! but he's trapped in limbo in a warehouse with a stalled out plotline. just keeping you updated. i think i want to wait another day or so and figure out whether they're successful on their mission "tonight" and then come back to the motel room with an update. unf.

Thanks! And you're not the only one with a stalled plot line.
4th-Oct-2009 02:56 am (UTC) - Re: ooc
*pokes at case 3 with a cattle prod*

We're not sticking around there much longer. Once I get Anna and Xander to weigh in, we're going back.

Hey Dawn, found your journal in the Foundation's directory.

How is Bobby and Jo?
5th-Oct-2009 01:07 am (UTC)
Hey look at that. :D

They're holding up. We're all kinda tired but we're here. How are things on the Soo?
5th-Oct-2009 01:11 am (UTC)
Alright. We got a guy who doesn't exist feeding us info on where Cas is. Found one place were he was hiding out before. Everyone else here has long since gone to bed. I'm just up...researching.

Don't tell Sammy. He won't believe you. Or me for that matter.
4th-Oct-2009 08:28 pm (UTC) - 3rd person!
Sam finally found a chance to have a few minutes to himself, sitting next to Dean in the car on the way back to the motel. The warehouse hadn't been completely clean, which meant they had another ambiguous clue, but it was better than nothing.

He pulled out his phone and thought too hard about what to type. After spelling and deleting a couple of things that sounded stupid, he just wrote well our case is strange; how's yours? and sent it.

Oh how strange it was to attempt flirting with a girl from four states away. He hoped he wasn't being creepy or desperate about it. He shoved his phone back in his pocket and scrubbed a hand across his face, trying to pretend he wasn't more nervous about this than he'd been about the warehouse.

Dawn had just decided to be uberlazy and use the elevator to go back up to the floor that they were staying on. Feeling more tired than her brain was she hit the up button and heard her phone go off way to loudly in the hotel hallway.

"Ah!" she fumbled with her tired hands to get to the phone.

Sam! She nearly did a dance right there. Ugh, the drive had been too quite of late. But a chance to talk.

well our case is strange; how's yours?

She climbed into the elevator and began to text for a moment. That was before she had a "duh!' moment and hit the "3" button. The elevator began to move up at a very slow pace.

currently requires food and sleep. just got into town. ur case is strange? sending it before she could over think the text.

She nearly bounded into the room with Dawn and Jo and reminded herself to calm down as she jammed the key card into the lock and it beeped. She was such a dork.
5th-Oct-2009 04:49 am (UTC) - Re: 3rd person!
Sam fished his phone out again as they pulled up in front of the motel and opened the message as Dean unlocked the door and let them in. He threw his duffel on the bed and grinned.

lots of run-around. semi-dead ends. can i call you in a few? tell you all about it.

He'd call her right that minute, but he was in desperate need of a shower. He opened his laptop and send a brief update to the Foundation, and then took advantage of Dean's emergence from the bathroom to wash off the day's grime.
7th-Oct-2009 09:46 pm (UTC) - Re: 3rd person!
Dawn grinned as she flopped down on the nearest bed and grinned as Jo and Faith were getting settled in. She grabbed her phone and read the newest text.

lots of run-around. semi-dead ends. can i call you in a few? tell you all about it.

She glanced up as she began to return the text.

sure. i'll be here.

Sam stepped out of the motel room into the parking lot, clean and damp, wearing a clean t-shirt and an old pair of sweatpants. He had his shoes on without socks, and he shivered a bit as he went to sit on the Impala's hood. He left the door open a crack, sliver of light spilling out, and pulled out his phone.

Before he could think too hard about it, he pressed SEND over the number in his Contacts and held the phone up to his ear, suddenly stupidly nervous.
8th-Oct-2009 03:12 am (UTC) - Re: 3rd person!
Dawn had just finished up her House Lo Mein when her phone rang with the chorus of Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody". She quickly excused herself out onto the balcony.

"Hey Sam, great timing." she smirked taking a seat in the chair.
8th-Oct-2009 04:17 am (UTC) - Re: 3rd person!
"Really?" Sam said, smiling. "Awesome. I usually have good timing, but even, you know, across timezones... uh." Good job, college boy. Sounding smart. "How are you?"

"Really?" Sam said, smiling. "Awesome. I usually have good timing, but even, you know, across timezones... uh." She chuckled. Sam stumbling over his words was cute. He asked. "How are you?"

"I'm tired and time seems to be moving at the pace of a snail." she grinned looking at the Golden skyline. They'd been there a few hours and it felt like it had been ages. "How are things there?" she asked picking at the hem of her shirt.
9th-Oct-2009 02:14 am (UTC) - Re: 3rd person!
"About the same," Sam said, leaning back on one hand. "It feels like we've been looking for Cas for months. Dean and I went for our regular scope-the-locals bar hop and met this guy, Grist, who turned out to not be real in the slightest." He huffed, irritated that they'd sat there for so long with this stranger. "But, he gave us a tip which turned out to be legit, but the trail was cold. So Dean's got some of Willow's mojo he's going to try tomorrow morning, see if we can pin Cas down." He rubbed his forehead. "Any luck on the leprechauns? Is it leprechauns?"
10th-Oct-2009 09:31 pm (UTC) - Re: 3rd person!
"Any luck on the leprechauns? Is it leprechauns?"

She sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "I have no idea." she shook her head. "We just got in to town and are getting settled into the rooms. Hopefully we'll know by tomorrow." she paused thinking.

"Willow's the go to on the wiccan mojo stuffs. If she gave Dean a ritual then you might not have a cold case for much longer. Hopefully by the time we talk to each other, in the face to face you'll be able introduce me to Cas." she grinned spotting Faith peeking to check on her.
10th-Oct-2009 09:58 pm (UTC) - Re: 3rd person!
Sam grinned. "Maybe. I hope so. It'd be nice to just get this over with. It's good to know Willow's a pro, too. Most of the magic we've done is exorcisms and... stuff like that. Haven't dealt with a whole lot stronger than that. I mean, not personally-- we've battled a lot of serious magic and witch bullshit, but. I'm sure she's, you know. The right way to go."

He sighed. "So, whatever. Enough business. We didn't get enough time to chat at the Foundation. You said your sister's a slayer? How'd you get involved with Regina, then, and how did you get to run such a kick-ass library?" He looked around. If Dean heard him waxing poetic about the library, he'd never hear the end of it.

He sighed. "So, whatever. Enough business. We didn't get enough time to chat at the Foundation. You said your sister's a slayer?

She chuckled. "Worried abut the fact that my big sister is coming to kick your ass?"

How'd you get involved with Regina, then, and how did you get to run such a kick-ass library?"

She sighed. "Reggie had a run in with her sister. Victoria. Her sister sold her and some of her firends out so Vicki could become a blood sucker. Regina kinda stumbled into our, the Scoobies laps." she grinned. "Scoobies being Buffy, Xander, Willow, Spike, Giles, Andrew and myself." Dawn studied her shoes for a second.

"Reggie just took to helping us out, mostly research and that kinda stuff. She'd pitch in where ever she could, said she owed us for saving her." Dawn smriked. "Reggie's the one that gave Giles the idea to give the new Watcher's Council a public face. Said hiding in plain sight was the best cover."

"And how I got to run such a kick-ass library? Someone has book envy?" she laughed. "Its just something I've done since I'm so awesome at research." she grinned. "I think Giles is like seriously jealous that I'm such a kick ass librarian."
15th-Oct-2009 11:37 pm (UTC) - Re: 3rd person!
Sam laughed at the idea of Dawn's sister coming to get him, but he really didn't want to tangle with her. Big siblings could be pretty protective, he knew that, and big siblings with superpowers were probably worse.

"Bummer about the vampire sister. But I guess you got the good end of the deal, then. Regina, a whole company, and a sweet library." He grinned. "Yeah, I totally have book envy. I used to love the library at school. Now I do most of the research for our cases. If we make it back to L.A., I'm definitely going to spend some quality dork time in that library." He paused. "Oh, god, I just admitted how much of a gigantic nerd I am." So smooth.

"Bummer about the vampire sister. But I guess you got the good end of the deal, then. Regina, a whole company, and a sweet library." He paused before continuing. "Yeah, I totally have book envy. I used to love the library at school. Now I do most of the research for our cases. If we make it back to L.A., I'm definitely going to spend some quality dork time in that library." He paused. "Oh, god, I just admitted how much of a gigantic nerd I am."

Dawn erupted in laughter. "Um helloooo," she managed to get out. "You're talking to another dork. I don't know if I'm on the Giles level of dork but I'm pretty up there." she grinned. "Maybe I could show you around the library in L.A. when we get back?"

Oh man, I couldn't be any less smooth.Facepalms. I'm so glad this is over the phone.
16th-Oct-2009 03:17 pm (UTC)
Sam grinned. "Fair enough. A tour of the library sounds great. I'd like that." Sam closed his eyes, screwing up his nerve. He kicked demon ass for a living; how could girls be so much scarier? "And then, maybe I could take you out to dinner?"
17th-Oct-2009 02:12 am (UTC)
She was so glad that she was sitting in a chair. Cause otherwise she'd be on the floor. So many times she'd had an opportunity like this and it usually end up with the cute guy making polite excuses to be somewhere else. This was amazing.

"Sure." she spoke and rose to her feet. Dancing the only way she knew how, a quick version of the Snoopy Christmas dance that she'd seen Xander do so many times. "That's sounds great!" she grinned calming herself down and remembering she has the power to speak.
17th-Oct-2009 06:41 am (UTC)
Sam grinned, ducking his head. "Awesome. So, okay, I should go, I think. Gotta find an angel tomorrow, you know. But, I'll talk to you later?"
17th-Oct-2009 10:14 pm (UTC)
"Yeah," she grinned tucking her long hair behind her ear. "I should be going too, can't keep my roomies up too much loner." she smiled. "Oh you'll talk to me later." Dawn's smile broadened again. "Hey, I'll call you next time."
19th-Oct-2009 01:27 am (UTC)
"Sounds good." Sam smiled. "I can't wait. Night, Dawn."

He waited for her reply, and then hung up the phone, trying to fight a totally idiotic grin. He allowed himself a momentary fist-pump in the air, and then slid off the car hood. He was so not telling Dean; Dean would tease and taunt and make inappropriate comments until Sam punched him in the face, and probably afterwards, too.

Sam got a soda at the vending machine for an excuse to be out, and went back to the room, and went to bed.
21st-Oct-2009 12:24 am (UTC)
"Night." she spoke before he hung up.

She knew the smile was on her face and that she'd have to get rid of it cause Faith would know. She sighed, happily and rose to her feet, shivering slightly as she stepped back into the room from the balcony.
